A Drowned World 2018

2nd year Masters studio project

This portfolio of images is being edited and will demonstrate the range of display and creative ideas experimented with and at play during the year long studio project.

Many images where taken while setting up works for assessment and experimenting with installation techniques.

This installation series presented a simulacrum of disembodied and morphogenic forms. A strange island of bodily objects with psychotropic painted skins of unknown origin. Infused with energies of attraction and repulsion they create a psychic landscape of absurdity and play.

Diverse sources such as JG Ballard’s ‘The drowned world’. Goya’s ‘Saturn Devouring His Son’ and Beckett’s Endgame’ all inspired this investigation of how to speak to the presence of the absurd and horrific within the human condition today.
