the enlightenment project

These three youth workshops where part of the enlightenment project and were incorporated into the launch and video projection.

I conceived of the project proposal and curated the research into digital images in the archives and worked with video artist Jim Coad and sound artist Jacques Soddell to create a video audio event. This event was intended to link young people to the museum and build larger audience awareness of the museum and its archives. The event was focussed around portait  images of the past morphing like ghosts over the surface and turning into the faces of the local youth and the future. Alongside this text and handwriting from the back of postcard portraits was also used as a translation of the changes in expression and communication which have occurred over time.
