A Drowned World 2018

Masters studio project

This portfolio of images demonstrates the range of display and creative ideas experimented with during the year long studio project.

The images where taken while experimenting with installation techniques and setting up works for assessment

This installation series presented a simulacrum of disembodied and morphogenic forms. A strange island of bodily objects with psychotropic painted skins of unknown origin. Infused with energies of attraction and repulsion they create a psychic landscape of absurdity and play.

Diverse sources such as JG Ballard’s ‘The drowned world’. Goya’s ‘Saturn Devouring His Son’ and Beckett’s Endgame’ all inspired this investigation of how to speak to the presence of the absurd and horrific within the human condition today.
